Referral Network
UPDATE: June 11, 2025
Due to the overwhelming number of legal service requests we’ve received—driven by the urgent needs of our community in this hostile political climate—we are at capacity and will be pausing our legal request form to ensure we can serve those who have already reached out.
We know the need for support won’t stop. For ongoing legal resources, please connect with our partners at the King County Bar Association’s Neighborhood Legal Clinics
For self-help tools, visit Washington Law Help
We see you, we’re fighting with you, and we’ll keep pushing for the resources our communities deserve. 💜✊🏽
Join the referral network as an attorney or firm!
We are consistently working to broaden the scope of our referral network. If you are an attorney that would like to be considered or you have an attorney suggestion for us, please fill out this form.
About the Referral Network
Deciding to retain legal representation is an important decision. Finding an attorney can be overwhelming. As part of our mission to promote the dignity and respect of 2SLGBTQIA+ Washingtonians within the legal system, we have implemented a statewide attorney referral network.
The attorneys in this network are not directly affiliated with QLaw Foundation, but are:
- committed to being 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming
- experienced with serving the members of our 2SLGBTQIA+ communities
- licensed to practice law in the state of Washington
While we have conducted an initial assessment of the attorneys in our network, ultimately the decision to retain counsel should be based on your own judgment and evaluation.
Cost
Depending on circumstances, some attorneys on our list offer legal services at no cost or a reduced fee, sometimes known as pro bono or low bono, respectively. Terms, such as scope of representation and fees, are determined by the referred attorney and client.
Finding a match
QLaw Foundation cannot guarantee a perfect match, nor can we ensure the referred attorney will represent you. In some regions, it is difficult to locate attorneys that are competent with 2SLGBTQIA+ clients and their matters. If we cannot find a suitable referral or if an attorney cannot take your case, we may be able to refer you to another attorney or offer alternative resources.
