To maintain data security, volunteers inactive for 30+ days will have logins deactivated. You’re always welcome back, just reach out when you’re ready to return!

We ask all volunteers to: 

  • Communicate openly, 
  • Maintain confidentiality, 
  • Treat clients with empathy and respect.

We have made sure to structure our programs to offer our volunteers flexibility and can sign up around their schedules.  

Our legal clinics are held twice a month—1st Friday and 3rd Monday—with shifts between 10:00 AM–7:00 PM. Non-clinic support can be scheduled anytime during the week, usually within business hours. 

Do the volunteer attorneys understand 2SLGBTQIA+ issues?2025-10-14T17:58:13-07:00

Many of our volunteer attorneys are members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.  They also receive specialized training on legal issues commonly faced by 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, ensuring a supportive and affirming experience.

Yes! We are committed to making our services accessible. 

We offer: 

  • Phone consultations (with other options available if needed) 
  • Interpreters for most languages, including ASL 
  • Disability accommodations 
  • Support for people without a safe space to talk

Volunteer attorneys cannot: 

  • Represent you in court 
  • Help with criminal law (e.g., arrests, trials, warrants, charges, etc.) 
  • Provide help with non-legal matters (e.g., filling out benefits applications)

Each consultation lasts 30 minutes. In some cases, we may be able to offer longer appointments if needed.

  • Contingency fee: Attorney is paid a portion of your settlement (typically for personal injury or similar cases) 
  • Standard fees: The attorney’s usual hourly rate 

We do our best to consider your fee capacity when making referrals. However, you and the attorney will discuss and agree on all costs and terms directly.

  • Support that’s trauma-informed and person-centered, to focus on what matters most to you.  
  • Help completing legal intake forms and understanding legal processes in clear, accessible language.  
  • Proactive communication and coordination between agencies and service providers- so you don’t have to do it alone.  
  • Accompaniment and advocacy during court proceedings, appointments, and other necessary meetings- because no one should have to face those moments alone.  
  • Guidance connecting community services and resources across Washington.

This is a short-term, voluntary program. You can connect via phone, text, email, video, or in-person. We offer flexible scheduling (including outside business hours). Most participants check in weekly or biweekly.

The Peer Navigator offers emotional support, rights education, and connections to trusted resources across a wide range of issues, including:  

  • Discrimination: emotional support, self-advocacy, rights education 
  • Employment: wage concerns, workplace rights 
  • Housing: tenant rights, safety planning, shelter referrals 
  • Family: CPS, DV support, family separation 
  • Immigration: stress, rights education, referrals 
  • Healthcare Access: gender-affirming care, insurance navigation 
  • Public Benefits: application/appeals assistance 
  • Disability: accommodations, accessibility support 
  • Education: student rights, bullying, IEP/504 navigation 

If you’re experiencing something that doesn’t fall into one of these categories, the Peer Navigator may still be able to help or refer you to a resource that’s a better fit.

If you are currently experiencing any of the following, we encourage you to connect with specialized services that are equipped to provide immediate or specialized crisis support.  

  • Suicidal thoughts or mental health crisis  
  • Active substance use requiring immediate medical or therapeutic care  
  • Immediate need for emergency housing  
  • Urgent advocacy related to domestic violence, intimate partner violence, or other acute harm
